Deckadance can be used as a stand-alone program connected as a VSTi. You can combine this software with other ones like Virtual DJ or Serato and open more ways to customize your tracks. It allows to chain the FX, control four decks and map the controllers to your preferences.
Traktor PRO 2 Traktor is the most popular DJ software among youngsters for its user-friendly interface and range of possibilities. Queuing and looping the tracks can be easily done, as deciding upon the loop length. With Traktor Pro 2 the cue moments are stored, allowing you to access them easily later. It has a library with 30 effects and 4 FX units. During performances, you can record the audio directly and transfer them to the remix sounds right away.
Traktor allows you to customize the parameters as you wish and regulate them fast and efficiently helping you create awesome mixes. The interesting story with superstar DJs is in the headphone world — where individual preferences, interests, and perhaps artist relations efforts all start to show up. Zedd is one of a select group of touring DJs who use an all-in-one DJ controller as their performance rig. He explains it well in the video above. The remix masters-turned-trap-gods Flosstradamus have an awesome live show that incorporates DJing in Ableton, and a ton of live triggering of samples, drums, and effects.
Watch a quick clip of it in action below, or read more here. Richie has his setup very much dialed — with a Traktor Pro base setup that is linked into Ableton Live synced MIDI clock to allow him to do live looping, sequencing, and clip triggering all over top of the playing decks.

If you have the extra money, these products are definitely worth the investment, but not necessary.
Harris seems to pick favorites when it comes to equipment. He tends to prefer using the industry standard DJ equipment, with his tracks harbored on a USB hard drive. Since he is most famous for what he does in the studio, it is no wonder that he seems to go along with the typical setup. Zedd tends to prefer using a MIDI controller as his main mixing board. One thing that sticks out in particular is that Zedd uses a firewire audio interface.
These tend to be a little bit more difficult to setup, but the sound they produce is much better than a USB audio interface. He tends to prefer using equipment that is nicer than the typical setup. However, you never really know what to expect Armin van Buuren to use for a live set.
Then, for a while, he has just gone back to traditional DJing. He was still getting used to it and said that he would not upgrade till he learns all there is about his current setup. Richie Hawtin uses Traktor as his software of choice. For producing, he chooses Digital Audio Workstation Cubase. For DJing, there is, undeniably, nothing more useful than Ableton. So when I perform my hits, I always try to keep the vital sections and come up with a new drop. Deadmau5 also uses Ableton Live.
With Ableton, he has more control over music because he can control the individual layers vocals, drums, synths, etc.
