Lake Miramar is a popular place so it can get crowded, especially on weekends. Depending on the time of day and season, it can also get extremely hot with limited shade, so plan to go early and bring lots of water. Very rarely there will be a car that uses this path, so keep an eye out for slow moving cars and fast bikes. After your walk you can go fishing, boating, hang out at the main recreation area, or get a snack at the concession stand. Located in the Scripps Ranch community, the dam and reservoir were completed in as part of the second San Diego Aqueduct project. Water flowing south to the reservoir originates from both the Colorado River Aqueduct and the California Aqueduct.
