Live PTR. Classic TBC. Classic Theme Thottbot Theme. Quick Facts. Comments Comment by ubermonkey The marmot cave is at The Kegs you need to poison are in the camp just to the right. Comment by virulence To be more precise about keg locations, there is 1 to your immediate left upon entering, 1 ahead of you and 1 to the far right.
Comment by walke1da Currently the fermented seed beer keg is somewhat broken and you might not be able to poison it right away. You might have to move around the keg a bit spamming the poison button to get it to poison. Comment by I know it might be dumb but you are not supposed to click the kegs, there is a "poison kegs" action in the pet bar you get. Just thought I would mention this since I had the pet bar disabled because of my addons, which took me a while to figure out!
Comment by topsub This was a fun quest, Few notes. Make sure your pet bar is working because you will need it. What you need to do is travel to 56,29 and look to the left near the ground there is a small cave, and use the kodohide drum.
Once you do that your guy turns stealth it seems but still can be seen by mobs and possible ally so put yourself close to the cave as possible.
Once you are the pet you need to run into the camp which is right beside you if you are facing the cave. You have to watch out because the mobs can see your pet so you need to run around them carefully. Comment by jockereh Kind of annoying quest, the mobs can se the little marmot from a pretty big distance and you cant run away from them, if you do they'll go attack your character instead!
Also, the item is on a 5min cooldown, so everytime you fail, you'll have to wait for 5minutes And, as a warlock, your normal pet dismisses when you use the item, which can be pretty annoying too! Ok when i tried the quest again i completed it, its very easy just dont walk close to any mobs, you don't need coords for the keg's they are easy to find and they are outside the huts.
Comment by Shump To note: The marmot has a stealth action, but you have to turn it on yourself. If you do this, just watch out for wolves, as they can see through stealth. Comment by 56, 29 for the drum To be more precise about keg locations, there is 1 to your immediate left upon entering, 1 ahead of you and 1 to the far right.
Piece of cake and FUN! Comment by I suggest getting the quest "Crush the Bloodmaul Camp" while working on this one. The reason is because the area is full of Warlocks and Maulers, just clear the area out first then transform into the rat so you don't have to worry about getting spotted or killed. It was annoying for the 5 minute cooldown if you get spotted so just go ahead and clear the place out first.
As mentioned, the wolves see stealth so just kill them too. The Fermented one seemed bugged at first but you need to move to the right side of the keg and do it, I guess because there is a wolf right there to pull aggro if you get out too far. Comment by I spent half an hour looking in the wrong spot for these kegs. To save future fellow questers from this embarrassment No acorns necessary. You can spam it on all the alliance in the area to screw them up!
They are casting frostbolt on an ogre? Turn them the other way! The spell cancels and they die! Comment by sunshine pet action bar nr.
Comment by Its left click to activate your critters skills, ignore the grey cog at the barrels and simple stand right at barrel and left click the poison icon. Comment by Boroxxar I just ran around with my critter and used the acorn toss. Your main character stays stealthed untill you dismiss your pet. Nice of Blizzard to throw these quests for somewhat of a break. Comment by Erinyes Your Marmot pet has four abilities: Attack I don't recommend attempting to fight , Stealth lasts until cancelled, the other abilities don't break it , Acorn Toss like Rogue's Distract ability , and Poison Keg should be obvious what you use this for; doesn't break stealth.
As you stand facing the marmot "cave", the camp with the kegs is to your right. I recommend scouting the locations before you tame your Marmot, but even if you don't the kegs are easy to find. You can clear a few mobs from the camp before taming the marmot, if you are concerned about the marmot being spotted, but with its Stealth on, you will be just fine.
Overall, an easy and fun quest. Comment by thegirl When I tried this quest, I only had 3 options on my pet bar, and the poison keg option was missing tired 3 times and finally dropped the quest. Could have been fun if it had worked :. Comment by Madrak I would just like to say that this quest was rather fun. My first Marmot took a dirt nap and I had to wait for the cool down to use again.
You can avoid this like stated by killing some of the mobs inside. I would further suggest checking out where the kegs are first, so you dont have to find them on "the fly" Might as well kill some of the mobs The Marmot Den is at 56,29 if you are facing it, NW I would suggest running the marmot clockwise starting at the keg in the NW corner.
If you get detected while in stealth your pet can take a decent beating before dying, so its possible to posion all three even if you get seen. The quest, Crush the Bloodmaul Camp is a nice quest to do at the same time. Comment by The Quest was bugged for me, I would successfully poison the first two kegs but couldn't Poison the keg of Fermented Seed Beer, i would press normally like the other two and id see the green poison but it doesnt say "Completed".
Could someone help me out please? I really want that reward from the follow-up Q "Showdown" Comment by Well what can i say Comment by Sheel Was a fun quest indeed.
It seems to me that characters with "stances", well, Warrior in my case, has to be in their default stance when calling out the marmot, this would be Battle Stance in a Warrior's case. I think I tried to call out the marmot while being in Berserker Stance three or four times with the result of my character going "invisible" and the marmot running away without being my pet.
Would be nice if anyone can "confirm" this or give some more input, not sure if it's only me it has happened to or if there's more with the same problem, I reported it anyways. Comment by i cant find the margot den. Comment by FuzzyYak I got so frustrated with the little thing getting hit the whole time, that I went in and cleared out the whole place.
He then sauntered in and poisoned away. Comment by Balseraph I can also note that be careful if you are facing towards the marmot den when you sound the drum. Just a cautionary note that at least one person has come across a geography bug with these marmots. Comment by This quest appears to be bugged as of the 2. When you attempt to use the marmoset's Stealth skill, it stealths your character instead of the marmoset. The only way around this is to clear the area first and quickly use the marmoset to poison the kegs before respawns happen.
Comment by Nystedt Be sure you first find the marmot cave. Next, kill the guarding ogres at the entrance, go in and find all kegs. Kill any ogre or dog close to them, and then go back to the cave. Use the marmot and poison all kegs. Also, I never tried to poison a keg while in battle, since I killed all ogres around them. Second, your marmot got about health or something, so dont be afraid if you get aggro.
Anyway, its a funny quest, to bad for Alliance. Comment by fcuking bugged acorn toss makes this quest a waste of my fcuking time. Also, the drum has the lame 5 minute CD which means if you fail, you have to wait around for ages. Please enable JavaScript in your browser. Live PTR. Classic TBC. Classic Theme Thottbot Theme. Quick Facts. It looked like a large prairie dog, and it was stealthing. Very odd.
Comment by BDLandis These are used in the quest "The Smallest Creatures," where at Rexxar's request, you use a tamed marmot to poison some ogre's beer kegs in the camp above. Comment by Please do take note at the cooldowns. Once you coax the Marmot, the stealth on the marmot is a 2 minute cooldown and the drum that you Coax with is a 10 minute cooldown. With that said, once you go in stealth, it is best to just stay in stealth while poisoning the kegs.
For 2 reasons: 1. The stealth does not slow movement speed. When you poison the keg it does not break the stealth. The above coords are confirmed. Comment by The highest level critter there is. Or so it says Right next door to Evergrove is a small village of even more Arakkoa we're not done with these guys yet , the Ruuan'ok Arakkoa.
The main task in this village is to gather items to create a pendant used later. Apparently, all Draenei are not aligned with the Alliance. These Draenei of the Wyrmcult nearly surround Evergrove and will attack Horde and Alliance players alike. As we continue, we'll see more of these guys and eventually enter their base. If you're getting tired of killing Ogres, Arakkoa, and rogue Draenei, this quest is for you!
Players are tasked with traveling to this den and taming a Marmot which then goes around and poisons some kegs of ale the Ogres have laying around. A nice break! And, now that we've seen two groups of Bladespire Ogres, we also see the second Bloodmaul group at Bloodmaul Camp. Be wary of these Ogres as they are the highest level in Blade's Edge. The Druids at Evergrove are unhappy with the way the land is being treated, especially in an area called Skald. Overrun with Imps and Fire Elementals, it's time to do some killing and plant some trees.
Druids are big fans of Arbor Day. We met the consortium in Nagrand, as well as some of their nemeses, and now me meet more bad Ethereals, the Razaani. These Ethereals apparently have a yellow-bellied leader since you have to kill many of these guys before he comes out to fight. If you have an itch to be a super-spy, this is the area for you, Make sure you wear the mask before trying to contact the leader or you'll be discovered.
Another group of Illidan's demons, they are led by Baelmon the Hound-Master. You will need a couple of good friends to beat this guy. The dimensional gateway behind Baelmon is summoning Wrath Hounds which are then transported to an area we will see later.
That good looking guy in the front on a Netherdrake is Inferious, my level 70 Undead Rogue. Normally at the level players are questing in this area, they are ineligible to work toward a Netherdrake mount, but I have the distinct task of creating this gallery, so I'm back again.
The Netherdrakes in this area are initially neutral toward players, who are required to kill them for their essences with the exception of their mother, Dreadwing.
Of course, most mothers would attack someone who was killing her children. We'll see in a coming Travel Log what a player has to go through to become Exalted with the Netherwing Faction to gain one of these fancy mounts. We're not quite finished with the Wyrmcult yet. Here we see a group of Druids from Evergrove who are upset about the Wyrmcult having a hold on this tunnel. Lets see what we can do to help.
The Druids would like us to kill Draaca Longtail, this Wyrmcult platoon's leader. I promise these are the last Arakkoa in Blade's Edge! Using the pendant created earlier, players are briefly able to understand the Arakkoa language to learn of some prophecies. Unfortunately, I don't remember now what they said More Ogres! This third faction of Ogres aren't too difficult to deal with. Simply kill a few of these guys and you're on your way.
Finally we find the Wyrmcult base. After killing Draaca Longtail in the tunnel, we find out that we need to head into this cave to listen in on a meeting. After switching back into mode again, we now know we must kill the leader, Maxnar the Ashmaw, a degenerate member of the Dragonkin race.
So far, we've discussed the activities for a level player. Now, we will head into some level 70 end-game content that can be found in this zone.
If you're level 70, find a friend, two, or four and create an arena team. Also in this picture is a large tower. At the top of this tower stands Mog'dorg the Wizened who begins the quest chain that leads to Ogri'la, Ogre Heaven. Mog'dorg gives three quests to start the Ogri'la chain. The first of which sends you just down the road to kill the Gronn Grulloc son of Gruul the Dragonkiller.
If this guy looks familiar, he should. We saw his youngest brother, Durn the Hungerer, in Nagrand a while back. Grulloc is much harder to defeat than Durn so be sure to gather up at least 4 good friends. Another son of Gruul is Maggoc.
Once again, you and at least 4 good friends will need to gang up on this guy to take him down. Maggoc can be found near the Bladespire Outpost walking around the valley that contains Death's Door. The third quest in the initial volley for Ogri'la sends players back toward Shattrath City to the Barrier Hills.
Not to mention all the Ogres standing around again, Slagg is no easy kill and will again require a good 5 players to take down.
